Support
An artful life means access to the arts for everyone.
Help us continue to serve as the heart and soul of our community by donating to this year’s Annual Fund Campaign. Our vision is to be the place where community gathers; to be a shining light that strengthens the social ties that benefit us all.
In 2020, during the depths of the pandemic, we initiated a strategic plan that helped us realign our mission and placed a specific emphasis on not only fostering creativity, but also in developing social connections through the Arts. We dreamed of a vision for our organization that would guide us into the future.
That future is now.
To achieve this vision, we have been working diligently towards becoming a true community center based on the arts and strive to be more than just a place where those interested in art briefly transact with their class and then move on.
Together with a broad swath of stakeholders from various backgrounds and viewpoints, we saw the Spruill Center for the Arts serving as a beacon for the community by providing access and opportunities for all to create and enjoy the arts.
We need to be a force for impact…and growth…and human connection.
A home to artists of all types and an oasis of refuge where community gathers to share ideas. Our vision drives us to expand this social component of our mission more than ever.
With the creation of our expanded studio space and courtyard this past year, we’ve embarked on this journey and enacted a series of initiatives to help us clarify this vision. We are moving ever closer to realizing this with our community-based programs that provide a means for everyone to become engaged with the arts.
We’ve awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to adults and children so far this year; leveling the playing field of access to the arts. With your support, we intend to increase that figure, and the number of potential students that we can reach, in the coming year.
We’ve begun a series of Free Community Workshops that open doors to a variety of mediums—at no charge to the participants— in art forms such as jewelry, drawing, blacksmithing, wood turning and more. With your support, we can grow this program by offering nearly 50 different workshops in the coming the year to reach upwards of 500 people in our community.
Our Creative Connections program serves those with cognitive decline AND their caregivers to provide therapeutic respite and empathetic bonding among classmates. Again, at no cost to participants.
Most excitingly, we are developing a series of free community programs and courtyard activations to further offer this wonderful new addition to everyone. In the coming year you can expect everything from yoga to yard games, from concerts to cornhole, and from speakers who share their love of art and their expertise with a broader community.
OUR VISION:
Spruill Center for the Arts will be a beacon for the community by providing access and opportunities for all to create and enjoy the arts.
Won’t you help us get closer towards this vision?
