Studios for Learning
Since 1975, our community arts center has grown from humble beginnings in a church basement to a thriving hub for nearly 8,000 students annually. In 2024, we opened our new 8,300 square foot wing, adding seven new studios to meet the increasing demand for arts programming.
Our 17 state-of-the-art studios, including two ceramics wheel throwing studios, two ceramics handbuilding studios, a blacksmithing shop, a woodworking studio, and specialized spaces for jewelry making, photography, glass arts, mosaics, painting, drawing, mixed media, fiber arts, digital arts, creative writing, printmaking, and decorative arts, are designed exclusively for educational purposes and dedicated to our diverse curriculum.
The studios at the Spruill Center cater to students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Adults, teens, and children attend weekly classes that span four to 10 weeks on a quarterly basis, with additional monthly workshops and our Visiting Artist workshop series.
