Community Programs

Spruill Center for the Arts is more than a place for classes—it’s a vibrant community hub where creativity and connection thrive.

Our vision is to serve as a true community center rooted in the arts, offering a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to explore, create, and enjoy art together.

Our community programs – including free yoga classes, open art studios, salsa classes, and more – is where this vision becomes a reality, offering opportunities for social connection and arts participation to all community members.

Featured Programs

Taste of Spruill

We offer free “Taste of Spruill” workshops to the community on the second Saturday and Sunday of each month. These offerings are intended to showcase the diversity of mediums at Spruill and to help the community partake in programs that may not otherwise be available to them.

Taste of Spruill workshops open for registration on the first day of each month.

FUNdamental Fridays (21+)

Join us on the first Friday of each month to and enjoy sharing space with other creatives during our free community events – open to all levels and free to all attendees.

FUNdamental Fridays operate on a rotating basis, with a different theme each month – Paint & Pints and Drink, Draw, or Be Drawn. These events are treated as open studio time rather than a traditional instructor-led class.

There will be some refreshments available including beer and wine. We will have limited supplies available, so please bring your own if you have them.

Crafternoon

Join us on the third Saturday of each month for a dedicated afternoon of crafting and community!

All mediums are welcome to partake in this FREE open studio environment. Whether you enjoy painting, drawing, sculpting, knitting, or any other artistic pursuit, come join other creatives for an afternoon of community and conversation. Feel free to bring work in progress or start a new piece and be inspired by other artists.

Please bring your own craft, as supplies will not be provided.

Mini Makers

Join us on the third Wednesday of each month for Mini Makers, a toddler art program for kids age 1-4 and their grown-ups. Each session will include crafts, music, movement, and storytime.

Each session is free for Spruill members and $5 for non-members. Come to one session, just a few, or all of them!

Morning Yoga

Join us at Spruill for free yoga classes most Friday mornings from 8-9 AM. No prior yoga experience needed – just a resealable water bottle and a yoga mat.

Tai Chi

Join us for a free Tai Chi class! Tai Chi, a moving meditation, is a graceful and enjoyable martial art that can improve balance, flexibility, and strength without stressing joints and has the potential to reduce mental stress by fostering calmness and inner focus.

This introductory course welcomes all levels – no prior experience is required!
