Call for Entries



In a digital world full of apps and instant reactions, the concept of art is an ever changing idea.  InstaShow takes an in depth look at how social media is changing our art experience, both as artists and as viewers.

Spruill Gallery is seeking photographs and videos from artists and the everyday poster depicting the way that they use social media platforms to promote themselves and their art.

The display of this collection will illuminate the role that social media plays in our ever changing concept of art.



Hand delivered artwork accepted at the Spruill Gallery: Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 5pm, through 9/7/2019

Mailed entries must be postmarked by 9/7/2019

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 19, 6 – 9pm

Exhibition Dates: September 20 – October 26, 2019

Conditions of Entry (photography):
Anyone can enter this show.  Submissions should show how visual images on social media promote artists, artwork and/or the transformation of everyday items or happenings into art through the act of posting them on social media.

There is no limit on the number of photographs that can be submitted.

Spruill Gallery reserves the right to refuse the display of any submitted work.

Photograph Size:
Square photographs between the sizes of 5×5 and 8×8 inches.  Unframed work only.  Signatures on back.

Conditions of Entry (video):
Video submissions should show the promotion of artwork and/or the process of creation. Limit 2 per artist. Submissions accepted by email at
