Straw and Felt Hat Blocking

Students need to bring
their basic sewing basket (scissors, needles, bead-head pins, thread
in basic colors, tape measure, etc.) plus 1/2"-wide elastic, and any
embellishments they want with which to decorate their hats.
This can be feathers, silk flowers, ribbon, veiling, buttons,
beading, old brooches, braid, etc. There will be a range of
hat colors to choose from--basically black, brown, navy, red,
burgundy, natural colored straw, and a few other colors.

Students
should wear
comfortable clothes which may get wet in the steaming process. |
| As a reminder, students will be making two (2) hats: a brimless felt hat, and a wide-brimmed straw hat. |
