Class Goals

Each painting assignment is designed to encourage exploration of different approaches to the use of color, paint application and/or technique. Class exercises will be geared towards helping you accomplish your own goals.

Materials

You must have the following in either acrylic or oil paint or any other "color" paint medium (i.e. oil pastels, crayons, pastels):

Cadmium Yellow Light

Cadmium Yellow Medium

Cadmium Red Light

Cadmium Red Medium or Grumbacher Red

Alizarin Crimson (Acra Violet)

Napthol Crimson

Ultramarine Blue

Cobalt Blue

Pthalocyanine Blue

Viridian Green or Pthalocyanine Green

Hookers Green

Dioxazine Purple

Yellow Ocher or Yellow Oxide

Burnt Sienna

Raw Sienna

Burnt Umber

Raw Umber

You will also need:

Pencils: HB, B, 2B

Erasers

Palette at least 16"x20"

Palette Knife

Container for water or mineral spirits and paint mediums

Mineral spirits and paint mediums as needed
