Alternative and Nontraditional Materials in Jewelry Making
Instructor:  Terri St. Romain
dangerjewelry@comcast.net

This class will focus on fabrication and connection techniques and interesting ways to use and adapt materials that we wouldn't think of for jewelry.  I think a lot of the fun will come from figuring out how to put it all together!

I know you've been wondering what to bring with you, so I've thought of some things and I hope you already have some things that you've been wondering what to do with them.  Bring them along!

Metal- silver, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, steel (what ever strikes your fancy here, I know that you probably already have some in your supply)  You'll probably want some metal to use as the basis of your pieces, so I'd make it both sheet and wire, maybe some 20 gauge sheet and a variety of wire sizes from 14 gauge to 24 gauge.  Bring however much you feel free to play with.  I'll have some copper and brass in the studio.

Found objects- bottle caps, feathers, buttons, bits of wood, shells, rocks, bone, teeth, old keys, old game pieces, sea glass, regular glass, rubber/plastic tubing, puzzle pieces, insects, washers, things from the hardware store, nails, bits of plastic thingies, tin boxes, photos, old maps, fancy paper, broken bits of pottery/dishes/ceramics, fabric, string, old makup brushes, parts from old toys, and keep on going.....
