Beginning Acrylic Painting

Please contact me with any questions.

Materials will be needed for the first class.

  1. Any materials that you already have

  2. 2 Canvas panels or some thing similar to paint on. No smaller than 18 x 24

  3. 1 medium round paint brush (for example #6, #8, #10 or #12).

  4. Paint: Windsor Newton Finity Make sure to get the Finity brand and not the Galleria brand, There is a huge difference

  • Windsor Newton Finity Permanent Rose

  • Windsor Newton Finity Cadmium Lemon

  • Pthalo Blue (any brand) if the label says red or green shade – either one is fine.

  • Zinc white or Titanium white
     

MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED FOR THE REST OF THE CLASS (THESE WILL BE COVERED THE FIRST NIGHT)

ACYLIC PAINT

  • Hookers green or Sap green

  • Mars Black or Ivory Black

  • Burnt Umber of Van Dyke’s Brown

  • Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre or Juana Yellow

OPTIONAL COLORS

  • Dioxide Purple

  • Cadmium Red

  • Unbleached Titanium

  • Cadmium Orange

  • Any other color that catches your eye

BRUSHES (each company has their own # system so if you have question on the size – I will cover it the 1st night)
  • Acrylic Bristle / Round #4 and #6

  • Acrylic Flat # 3 and 12

  • Watercolor brush (a soft brush) #8

  • Liner brush (a long thin brush)

OTHER ITEMS

  • Disposable palate

  • Small round plastic palette with 12 cups

  • Small spray bottle to mist paints with

  • Gloss medium and varnish

  • Palette knife

  • Modeling paste

  • Canvas /panels or board no smaller than 18 x 24

  • Sketch pad
