Beginning Drawing Supplies Please bring all supplies to first class. 4 graphite drawing pencils: Derwent, Faber-Castell or Sanford Design or similar brand; size F, 2B, 3B, 4B 1 drawing pad: 14” x 17” Canson (preferred) or Strathmore brand, white drawing pad (not sketch pad); 80-lb weight preferred. 1 eraser: Design brand Kneaded Rubber Eraser 1 small roll drafting tape (the kind that easily peels off) 1 drawing board, approximately 16” x 20” or similar size. (Just needs to be slightly larger than your drawing pad.) You can either get this at an art supply store (flat brown board, usually with clips at the top and a handle), or you can get a sheet of 2’ x 2’ (1/8” thick) Tempered Hardboard at Home Depot and have them trim it to size (only a couple of dollars). Dick Blick, Binders or Pearl are the best places to find all of these supplies. (Craft/hobby shops, such as Michael’s, don’t always have all of the specified drawing pencils.) |
