Students will need to order their supplies from
Blue Printables, at
1-800-356-0445.
Their website address is
http://www.bluesunprints.com
This is a west coast company, so please allow at
least 5 business days for shipping.
Cyanotype coating can be done at home; however, it
is much more cost effective to purchase from Blue Printables.
I would recommend t-shirts and quilt squares;
however, they sell coated silk and cotton sheeting that can be used for
table cloths. You are not limited to the number of items you wish to
work with, so this may be a good time to review that yearly gift list.
Water color paper may also be an option as I will
demonstrate how to make note cards using this product.
DO NOT OPEN the above supplies. They are light
sensitive.
A variety of objects will be available for use to
create individual designs; however, you may also bring your favorite
leafs, flower, pasta shapes and anything else that will create a shape
that may strike your fancy. If you have any old family negatives bring
those along as well. These need to be pre-50’s negatives. You are
welcome to try 35mm negatives, but the larger negatives produce more
satisfying results.
Bring some coat hangers if doing t-shirts. They
will be semi-wet and it might be easier to transport them in a hanging
fashion. |
