Melt Bezels? Burn bottoms? Accidentally reticulate? Do you spend a lot of time re-doing solder seams? Then this class is for you. This intensive soldering workshop will focus on Blythe-Hart's innovative Heat Zone method for better soldering results. Beginning through advanced silversmiths will start with the anatomy of a flame and apply it to several types of soldering from stick feeding, production methods, long seam to sweat soldering. Tips and tricks galore will be shown as well as acetylene tank safety. This class is a must for anyone wanting to build up their soldering confidence and speed.

SUPPLIES: REQUIRED:

6 inches of 26ga 1/8 inch tall FINE SILVER bezel wire
At least 4 feet of 18ga round STERLING wire (any hardness)
At least 1inch by 2 inches of 22ga STERLING sheet (or similar)
Small piece of scrap STERLING if you have any
Notebook and pen to take lots of notes
Container or baggie for your supplies

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES:

Inexpensive 6 ½ inch long diamond-handling type tweezers
(like Rio Grande’s # 115-053)
Curved 6 ½ inch long insulated cross lock tweezers
(like Rio Grande’s #115-050)
Round nosed pliers
Flat nosed pliers
Joyce Chen-type scissors or wire nippers
Sharpie Marker- fine point
Bring your worst soldering nightmare if you have one
