Important Camp Registration Info

Please read the following information on the summer camp programs at The Spruill Center for the Arts.  If you have additional questions after reading this information, please contact The Education Director, Mindy Spritz at 770.394.3447 ext 229.

When:

General registration opens March 1st, 2008.
The 2008 Summer Camp Program will run from May 27th, 2008-August 2008.

What:
Visual & Performing Arts Camp: 10 weeks of adventure camp in one week sessions spanning the summer. Ages 5-10

Specialty Camps: Intensive one week camp sessions in a variety of disciplines spanning the summer. Ages 11-14

Camper Information:
Visual and Performing Arts Camp is open to students ages 5-10 only.
Children must be five years old by the start of the camp session.
Campers may request to be grouped with a friend for camp.*
Specialty camps are available only for ages 11-14, with the exception of one week of Rocketry for children ages 8-10.
All registration information must be completed in order for your registration to be entered.

Camp Projects are age specific.
Visual Arts Camp: Painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber arts, etc. An exhibit will conclude the camp session.
Performing Arts Camp: Acting exercises, music, and dance. A performance will conclude the camp session.
The camp day will include short breaks for structured play outside in the enclosed courtyard, weather permitting.

Instructor/ Classroom information:
Our camp instructors are professional educators from both public and private schools.

Background checks are run for all Camp Employees at the County, State and Federal levels.

The student/instructor ratio is approximately fifteen (15) campers to one primary instructor; Education and Camp directors will assist as needed.
 

Classes are geared to a specific age group to ensure the best experience for everyone.  Specific groupings are created the Friday prior to the start of each camp session. We do not accommodate instructor requests.

What to Bring:
Each camper will need a sack lunch with a drink (w/ ice pack if contents are perishable).

For those attending after care, send an additional snack and drink (no candy or soda, please).

Most supplies are provided, but camp instructors may occasionally ask campers to bring objects from home for special projects or performances.

What to Wear:
Please dress your child in older, comfortable play clothes.
NO FLIP FLOPS, SANDALS, OR SNEAKERS WITH WHEELS.

Before, After, and Extended Care:
Additional care is available with times and fees listed on the registration form.
A fee will be charged for all late pick-ups. ***

Special Needs Students:
Unfortunately, we do not offer camp for special needs students at this time. Please visit the following websites for camps geared to special needs campers: www.mysummercamps.com, www.ACAcamps.org, www.kidscamps.com.

Registration Information:
The Spruill Center reserves the right to refuse registration, alter, or cancel any camp session as necessary.

An email receipt including our tax ID # will be sent to you. SCA is not responsible for receipts not received due to an invalid address or spam blocker.

Registration will be available online in 2008, but hard copy forms will be available at www.spruillarts.org, in the paper catalog, and the registration desk of the Education Center. Fax, mail, or drop off completed registration and medical forms. Registration is not accepted by phone or email.

Fees, Payment, Scholarships, and Discounts:
The Spruill Center for the Arts does not offer partial camp sessions or pro-rate camp fees.  

Payment is due at the time of registration. Forms submitted without payment will not be entered We accept Cash, Checks, VISA, Mastercard, and Discover. **

There are a limited number of scholarships available. For more information, contact the Education Director at 770.394.3447, ext 229.

As a non-profit organization, courses at the Spruill Center are offered at the lowest possible price. If you are interested in receiving the lowest price; please consider a Spruill Center membership. There are no further discounts available.

Transfer/ Cancellation/ Refund Policies:
All registration changes and cancellations will incur an administrative fee of $20.

Cancellation/transfer must be approved and confirmed by an employee of the Spruill Center at least TWO (2) WEEKS PRIOR to the first day of the camp session.

Memberships and donations are NON-REFUNDABLE.


* Two friends per child. Friends must list one another or be no more than two (2) years apart. Most requests can be accommodated. Placement is not guaranteed.
** Forms MUST BE SIGNED in order to authorize a credit card charge. In order to pay by check or cash, the registration form must be mailed or dropped off. Do not staple checks or fax the registration form without payment. DO NOT MAIL CASH.
*** EARLY DROP OFF/ LATE PICK-UPS 

All late pick-ups will incur a fee.

A fee will be charged for any child dropped off prior to 9:15am ($10 per day).

Every child brought into the building from carpool will incur a fee for one day of aftercare ($15 per day).

Any child registered in after care picked up later than 4:30pm must pay for one day of extended care ($10 per day).

Any child enrolled in extended care picked up later than 6:00pm, will be charged $10 for every ten minutes that they are here past 6:00pm. This can add up quickly, so please be sure to be on time. Please understand that these charges exist to insure the appropriate staffing and care for your children is available.

The Spruill Center Education Center is handicapped accessible. Programs and facilities are offered to all persons regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, or creed.
