Summer Camp 2010 FAQ
 

Questions about Summer Camp? 
Find out the answers to the most frequently asked questions...

What are the camp hours? 9:30am-2:30pm. Before care- 8am-9:30am, After care- 2:30pm-4:30pm, Extended care- 4:30pm-6pm. There is a fee for all late pick-ups.

 How large are the classes? Approximately 15 campers in Children’s Camp; Maximum of 15 campers for Specialty Camp.

 How are class groups determined? Classes are geared to a specific age group, usually a 1-2 year age span, to ensure the best experience for everyone.  (Not applicable for Specialty Camp as there is only one class per camp.)

 What is the child to instructor ratio? There will be approximately one instructor for every 15 children.  With the camp directors, assistant director, and volunteer assistants to fill as needed.

 How soon should I register? We recommend that you register at least two (2) weeks prior to the camp session due to space limitations and supplies.  However, if space is available, we can accept registration until camp begins.

 Can my child attend a partial session for a reduced rate? No, we do not pro-rate sessions or offer split sessions for any of our camp programs.  To receive the full benefit of our programs, we recommend that your child attend each day.

 What is the cancellation/transfer policy for summer camp? All cancellations and transfers will incur an administrative fee of $20 per session. Partial refunds are available for approved cancellations/ transfers two (2) weeks prior to camp.

 Will my child need to bring lunch? Yes. Send a sack lunch each day; as well as an after-care snack (if applicable).

 Will there be breaks incorporated into the camp day? There will be short breaks for structured play outside in the enclosed courtyard as weather permits.  For Specialty Camp, breaks will be determined by the instructor.

 Who are the instructors? Our instructors are education professionals from both public and private school systems.  Please see the instructor bios page for more information on our wonderful instructors.

 Who will my child’s instructor be? We will not be able to give notice of your child’s instructor at registration or accommodate camper requests for a particular instructor. .

 Do you run background checks? Background checks are run on all Summer Camp Employees for any and all criminal activity and/or arrests at the County, State and Federal level.

 My child is outside of the listed age range, can they participate in camp? No. Children must be 5 years old to participate in the children’s camp and 11 years old to participate in specialty camp*.

* Space Camp is available to 8-10 year olds for one session of Specialty Camp.

 Can my child attend camp with a friend? Of course!  However, you may only list two friends per child.  Friends must also list one another and may not be more than two (2) years apart.  Classes are geared to a specific age group to ensure the best experience for everyone.  Most requests can be accommodated, but placement is not guaranteed. (Not applicable for Specialty Camp)
