Arts 4 Alzheimer's Friday Class

A wonderful weekly arts program for people with early stage memory loss, held at the Spruill Education Center every Friday.  Trained artists facilitate the classes in a variety of mediums (such as painting, pottery and collage).  Care partners are welcome to attend if they wish.  Classes are free of charge and open to people with early stage memory loss living at home.  Before attending, please call to reserve a spot as class size is limited.

Arts 4 Alzheimer's Training for Artist/Educators

Volunteer Training Sessions:  Are you an artist, designer, photographer, craftsperson, etc...then this is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn to share your talents with local residents who are living with Alzheimer's disease.  Please join us for a training session which is offered at the Spruill Education Center quarterly.  Once trained, you will be able to use your talents to help people with Alzheimer's reconnect to their inner selves and find new outlets for creative expression at the classes on Friday.

Alzheimer's 101 Workshop

Caregivers, friends and family of people diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease often feel helpless:  How does the disease affect the brain, the person?  How will the disease progress?  What resources are available to help me cope?

These questions and more will be explained in a non-medical, non-threatening environment.  Free to the public and held quarterly, the next workshop will be offered in Friday, October 8, 2010.  Please call for time.  This program is presented jointly by the Spruill Center for the Arts and the Alzheimer's Association.

Next Artist/Educator Training will be on Thursday, October 14, 2010 - Please contact Tania Becker.
